Daniela Pellis

This is a labour of love, my happy chair.

I had no idea of where I was going when I began collecting leftover bits of wool from friends and rummage sales to make this chair. I certainly had no inkling of the many, many hours it would take to complete. As the hours flew the shapes and colours began to come to life. I was braiding, crocheting, hooking, and suddenly I realized how much fun this was, I was having a ball!

I began embroidering at the age of six and have often worked with needle and thread but have never done anything quite like this. I wonder where will this take me, what will come next?

  1. Daniella, this is a joy — at once modern and nostalgic, funny and touching, luxurious and homespun, quite mad and clearly quite masterful.
Love the work. Love the artist.
