Collectionneuse depuis toujours, Brigite Normandin trouve parmi ses amas d’objets trouvés d’inspirants sujets pour ses œuvres.Ses trouvailles de métal, de plastique, de bois ou de papier possèdent toutes des formes et des couleurs stimulantes qui donnent essor à son inspiration.Son oeuvre se situe entre l’art existentiel et l’art brut avec une touche de Funk.

En peinture et en dessin, ses sujets fragmentés rappellent ses assemblages.

Ses sculptures sont créées à partir d’objets trouvés. C’est là que se reconnaît la raison d’être de ses nombreuses collections.

Bien qu’elle préfère faire passer un message important à propos de notre époque et de notre société, ses images souvent troublantes distillent quand même une essence poétique.Brigite croit fermement qu’une lumière parvient toujours à se glisser dans l’état le plus sombre de l’humanité. En peignant cette obscurité, elle y introduit invariablement une lueur d’espoir  qui éclaire et laisse entrevoir une franche beauté.

Always the collector, Brigite Normandin draws inspiration for her work from her collection of found objects. Her discoveries—whether of metal, plastic, wood or paper— have all the forms and colours she needs for her work, which is positioned somewhere between existential and raw art, with a touch of Funk. 

The fragmented aspect of Brigite's painting and designs recall her assemblages. As for her sculptures, they originate in found objects. It's there that one can find the true purpose of her numerous collections.

Even as Brigitte's pieces offer profound insights into our life and times, they also contain unsettling images of a poetic nature. She firmly believes that there's always a light burning somewhere in humanity's darkest predicaments. As she combs through them, she invariably introduces a ray of hope that illuminates her work and allows us a glimpse of its bold beauty.
