Catherine Panchaud

Catherine Panchaud est née à Montréal en 1961. Graphiste de formation, elle poursuit depuis plusieurs années une recherche sur l’incorporation de matières inexplorées dans le domaine pictural.  Son travail en illustration l’a amené tranquillement vers les Arts Visuels,  mélangeant sculpture, peinture, collage sur une même toile. Depuis 4 ans elle travaille la vitre et l’insère aux textures comme des éclats d’acrylique. Sa toile de vitre est ensuite cassée et se transforme en une multitude de facettes colorées qu’elle juxtapose créant de nouvelles perspectives en trompe l’oeil. Chaque tableau devient une découverte, chaque découverte cache une surprise. Son travail est perçu comme un éclatement de couleurs, de formes fragmentées et d’explorations inusitées.

Pratiquant son art dans la région de Sutton  certaines de ses toiles ont trouvé preneur à New York au Japon ainsi que sur la Côte Est des États-Unis.    

Catherine Panchaud was born in Montréal in 1961. Trained as a graphic artist, she spent several years studying how to incorporate unexplored materials in her painterly world. Her illustrations naturally led her to the visual arts, assembling sculpture, painting, collage under the same roof. For the last four years, she has worked with glazing, creating textured surfaces of broken acrylic. She shatters her glazed canvas into a multitude of coloured facets and then juxtaposes them, creating trompe l'oeil perspectives. The result is an explosion of colours, fragmented shapes and rare revelations. Each creation becomes a discovery, each discovery hides a surprise. Panchaud's work has found its way into collections in New York and Japan, as well as the East Coast of the United States. She currently practises her art in the region of Sutton.
